In Shaina McCoy’s second print edition with Simco Editions, Harmonica, Stevie Wonder is depicted in a beaming red shirt playing the harmonica set against a white background. The multi layered raised texture print, created by UV printing techniques, embodies her signature oil paintings made with thick textured brushstrokes.

Harmonica is produced from an original painting of McCoy’s. Stevie sits against the contrasting background with radiating rays of brushstrokes from the crown of his head. McCoy says she uses, “the rays as symbols of importance, and a nod to Renaissance paintings where the halos sit behind important or religious figures from the Bible.”
