After 4 months of testing, and over 20 prototypes, we arrived at the finalized solution for Chimera 01, the first printed and framed edition by designer and artist, Luna Ikuta. The piece is self illuminated by reflected or ambient light, and changes with the environment, viewing angle, overall reflected light, and/or angle of direct incident light. This was our first piece to incorporate contoured laser engraving + printing + custom designed Richlite frame. The 3D contoured laser engraving effectively creates something reminiscent of a backlit hologram or subtle 3D lenticular effect.
